Center for Solid State Science
The Center for Solid State Science, originally established in 1974, provides a wide range of laboratory facilities for materials synthesis, processing and analysis. This type of research advances fundamental knowledge of matter, and is considered vital for the advancement of materials and processes that are essential for modern technology. The Center provides a valuable resource for high technology industry, faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, and local school districts.
With more than 70 ASU faculty members affiliated with the Center from related departments and colleges, the Center for Solid State Science demonstrates cross-disciplinary research at its highest level, cutting across traditional fields and emphasizing and encouraging problem solving using skills from a wide range of disciplines.
